YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"I pity that Intellectual Armenia Union has left the Republic Bloc–even though I feel that its members were not too willing to do that," Yeghia Nadjarian–chairperson of the Hnchakian Party.
Nadjarian found the move to be a result of the subjective position of Union Chairperson Hovhannes Tokmadjian.
The Hunchakian Party–according to Nadjarian–entered the bloc in support of Levon Ter-Petrosyan rather than in harmony with other parties of the bloc.
"If President Levon Ter-Petrosyan should remain alone–like Robinson Cruso–on the political island–I will be next to him," Nadjarian vowed.
Regarding Prime Minister Robert Kocharian’s possible resignation–Nadjarian noted that if such a case arose–then he as a Parliament member would not jump to any conclusions–but would wait until all points were presented–consider all viewpoints and then make a decision.
Nadjarian pledged that he would neither assess the matter as a Hunchakian Party member nor through the eyes of the Republic Bloc–but as an Armenian and a citizen of Armenia.
Nadjarian expressed that the Prime Minister should have supported Levon Ter-Petrosyan during the recent crisis. He continued to state that Kocharian’s position is unclear to him.
