BAKU (Reuters)–Azerbaijan’s President Gaidar Aliyev named Tofik Zulfugarov–chief negotiator in talks with neighboring Armenia–as foreign minister of Azerbaijan–the presidential press-service said on Friday.
Zulfugarov–38–who had been a deputy minister–replaces Hasan Hasanov sacked last month over involvement in the illegal construction of a hotel in the capital Baku.
Zulfugarov has headed the Azeri delegation at negotiations with neighboring Armenia over issues related to Nagorno-Karabakh.
