Kocharian Leads Unity Basketball Team to Victory

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"I take defeat in sports and life casually," Acting President–Prime Minister and presidential candidate Robert Kocharian said on Thursday following a basketball game held at the sports arena of the Armenian-Canadian joint venture Grand Tobacco. The match between the government’s Unity team and the students’ Future team ended in a 77 to 38 victory for team Unity.

The first point was scored by Kocharian. His team members included Nagorno-Karabakh President Arkady Ghoukassian–Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian–Interior and National Security Minister Serge Sargssian–Deputy Minister of Culture Ishkhan Zakarian–and Kocharian’s and Oskanian’s sons.

Kocharian said that both his basketball team and election campaign staff were in excellent form–bur refused to provide any comment regarding the upcoming run-off elections.
