Prelacy School Students Excel in Science Fair

Students from Chamlian Armenian School–Alex Pilibos Armenian School and Ferrahian Armenian School participating in the 48th annual Los Angeles County Science Fair received their awards and prizes on Wednesday April 22.

Semifinalists will represent Los Angeles County at the California State Science Fair to be held at the end of May.

The following are the names of the students and the categories in which they excelled:

Chamlian–Shant Norahdian–7th grade–Gold in Microbiology; Terenig Topjian–8th grade–Silver in Engineering Applications; Edwin Petrossian–8th grade–Bronze in Physics/Astronomy; Hrair Simonian–7th grade–Silver in Physics/Astronomy; Taleen Akopian–7th grade–Bronze in Physics/Astronomy; Tenny Balabegian–7th grade–Honorable Mention in Microbiology; Alec Baghdassarian–8th grade–Honorable Mention in Engineering Applications.

Rose and Alex Pilibos–Krikor Boyrazian–8th grade–Gold and GTE Special Award $2000 in Computer Science; Carolyn Minassian–10th grade–Gold in Microbiology; Akop Sesenyan–9th grade–Bronze in Physics; Serge Baltayan–9th grade–Honorable Mention in Physics; Armine Movsesyan–9th grade; Honorable Mention in Behavioral Sciences.

Ferrahian–Hrag Tro Ghazarian–9th grade–Honorable Mention in Environmental Issues.
