Several Key Figures Dismissed

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Through decrees issued Thursday and Friday–President Robert Kocharian relieved Ambassador At-Large Jirair Libaridian and Armenia’s Ambassador to France Vahan Papazian from their duties.

Armenia’s Prime Minister Armen Darbinian also issued a decree dismissing deputy trade and industry ministers Miron Shishmanian and Shiraz Kirakossian. He also dismissed the chief of Armenia’s State Language Administration Valery Mirzoyan.

The Prime Minister’s press service cited numerous inadequacies and the need for new blood to function in the aforementioned institutions.

Darbinian has appointed former deputy education and sciences minister Levon Glastian to replace the outgoing Mirzoyan.
