Diasporan Students Offered Scholarship by Armenia

The Los Angeles Consulate of Armenia reported that the Armenian Education Ministry is offering scholarships for Diasporan’students who wish to attend Armenian universities in pursuit of bachelor’s and master’s degrees–and post-graduate professional programs. Scholarships will be offered through an open competition. Selection of recipients will be based on applicants’ merits.

Candidates for scholarships in the bachelor’s category must meet the state requiremen’s for such a degree. A bachelor’s degree requires at least four years of study. Those who are not fluent in Armenian are accepted to an introductory program for a maximum of one year.

Candidates for scholarships in the master’s category must already hold bachelor’s degrees. A master’s degree requires two years of education.

Candidates for scholarships in the post-graduate professional category must already hold master’s degrees and have at least two years of work experience. This program requires two years of research.

Applicants must submit their applications to the Armenian Consulate in Los Angeles no later than June 25–with the following documen’s:

–Questionnaire

–Application addressed to the Education Ministry specifying the chosen field of study

–Biographical statement

–Notarized diploma(s)

–Medical records determining applicant’s health and ability to adapt to Armenia’s climate

–IDS test report

–Notarized birth certificate

–dentification card/passport

–Six photos

–For applicants to the post-graduate professional programs must submit:

–a notarized copy of their highest diploma translated into Armenian or English

–a list of published works or references

–a list of languages studied

In Armenia–the academic year begins on September 1 for students and on October 1 for post-graduate professional scholars.

All scholarship recipients will be provided with lodging and tuition equivalent to Armenian residents.
