Armenian Delegation Opposes Consensus Bid at OSCE Meeting

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The results of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe held in Copenhagen–Denmark–on July 6-10–were presented during Tuesday’s meeting of Parliament Speaker Khosrov Haroutiunian with his deputies–members of Parliament and Foreign Ministry officials.

The head of the Armenian delegation at the Copenhagen meeting–chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations–Hovhannes Igitian–reported that among other issues the Copenhagen meeting also discussed prospects for reforms in the OSCE structure. The delegation spoke against reconsidering the principle of making decisions by consensus now practiced in this international structure to ensure equality among sovereign states.
