YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Patent Bureau of Armenia granted a patent for a new kind of internal-combustion engine. This engine–which is different from already existing engines–because it can transform reciprocal motion into rotary motion–and if the cylinders have the same total volume–the engine can produce twice as much power as ordinary engines.
This new engine–invented by Candidate of Technical Sciences Telman Asatrian–is called "Astroid internal-combustion engine" and has no cran’shaft–the editor-in-chief of the "Energetic Lratu" ("Energy Bulletin")–Stepan Papikian told Noyan Tapan. According to Papikian–this engine will be competitive and give rise to a revolution in this field.
