ARF Representatives Meet With Russian Ambassador

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Newly elected members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Andrei Ournov Thursday.

Armen Rustamian and the Executive Council’s political director Edward Ghazarian represented the ARF in the talk–which lasted more than an hour and covered issues of mutual concern.

The ARF representatives addressed their party’s views regarding a slew of subjects–including ARF participation in the legislative process–the Armenian Cause and Armenia-Russia relations.

Also discussed were issues concerning the current commission on Constitutional reform–the decentralization of local government–as well as the Karabakh question.

Ournov explained the Russian position on these issues–specifically the next of stage Karabakh peace talks.

Furthermore–the ambassador discussed cooperation between Russia and Armenia in economic and political spheres.

Both sides were pleased with the positive tone of Russian-Armenian cooperation.

At the close of the meeting–both sides decided that such talks should be held on a regular basis–in order to ensure the continuation of relations between the ARF and the Russian Embassy.
