10 Armenian Chemical Enterprises Fail to Operate

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– According to the data of the Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade–only six of the 16 enterprises of Armenia’s chemical industry started operating in the first half of 1998. Products worth 2682.846 drams were manufactured–which makes up 98.87 percent of the corresponding period last year. The sales made up 4429.029 million drams this year.

81.5% of the total volume of products manufactured this year is the share of the "Nairit" enterprise–which is 100.150 million drams as much as the corresponding period last year. In the first half of 1998 the "Polyvynylacetate" enterprise manufactured products worth 359.129 million drams–the Vanadzor "Kimiagorts" enterprise manufactured products worth 100 million drams–the Sevan "Apakemekusich" – 28.032 million drams–"Plastpolimer" – 4.777 million drams–"Dogagorts" 3.289 million drams. As compared to the corresponding period last year these showings made up 85.09%–40%–43.74%–58.47%–28.08% respectively.
