Socialist Forces Discuss Prospects for World Development

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– A meeting–"Socialism & the 21st Century," sponsored by the Union of Socialist Forces of Armenia and the "Gitelik" Society was held on Thursday to discuss prospects for the world’s development in the next century.

The chairman of the CIS Intergovernmental Committee for Dissemination of Knowledge and Education Among Adults Yefim Malitikov said that more and more attention is being paid to the use of human resource in social development. The new supranational program of the UN is aimed at this as well.

The vice-president of the Russian Copyright Protection Society Georgi Ter-Ghazariants pointed out that copyright protection–which is gaining real strength in the post-Soviet era–plays a special role in the sphere of dissemination of knowledge: the use of authored works is under the observation of inspectors in large regions and cities of Russia. Incomes obtained through using works by Armenian authors are sent to Armenia.
