European System to Be Preserved in Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Public Council of Armenia held a special meeting last Friday to discuss Armenia-Europe relations and prospects for their development.

Zohrab Mnatsakanian–a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs–presented a concept of Armenia’s foreign policy in Europe. He pointed out that Armenia’s foreign policy in Europe rests upon such basic principles as democracy–market economy–law-abiding state–regional stability and national security. Mnatsakanian also spoke of ways of further developing relations with Europe. He reported on the formation of the European Union as well as on its programs in Armenia.

The Public Council stated that the model of European civilization should be preserved in Armenia.
