All Armenian Forum Seeks Fair Solution to Karabakh Problem

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– The steering committee of the All Armenian Forum "In Defense of Karabakh" issued a statement Thursday stating that it will continue its efforts to achieving a fair solution to the Karabakh problem–using all internationally accepted means.

It is said in the statement that there have been attempts to "direct the solution to the problem of Artsakh to an illegal field–linking it with the principle of territorial integrity." This principle is being considered only when it comes to Azerbaijan whose territorial integrity has never been violated by any state. The Artsakh problem is the result of the Genocide of Armenia’s committed early this century (1915-23).

Pointing out that such disputes are the result of oil and geopolitical interests of certain countries–and in turn ignoring the existing realities and jeopardizing the peace process–the steering committee of the Forum "In Defense of Karabakh" maintains that Armenia’s have been waging their struggle strictly within international norms.
