Kocharian Appoints New Spokesperson

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian issued a decree dated September 1 appointing presidential advisor for information affairs Gasya Abgarian as his spokesperson.

Gasya Abgarian gave a briefing on Tuesday during which she promised to hold briefings every Tuesday. She presented the president’s schedule for the next few days to reporters–including Kocharian’s September 2 visit to Lachin–where he will attend a ceremony on the opening of the Lachin section of the Stepanakert-Lachin highway–after which–the president will be informed of the status of the Shushi-Stepanakert roadwork.

Robert Kocharian will also visit Stepanakert to attend a reception held on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Karabakh’s independence.

On September 3–the president will return to Yerevan where he will preside over the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the All Armenian Fund "Hayastan."

On September 5–Kocharian will take part in the work of the Constitution Amendment Commission.
