ARF Reps Urge Karabakh to be Cautious on Privatization

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia vice-representative Armen Rustamian–and Executive Council members Edward Ghazarian and Gegham Manoukian met with Karabakh’s permanent representative to Armenia Karen Mirzoyan in Yerevan.

The legislative activities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic concerning land privatization were reportedly discussed. The ARF officials urged Karabakh leaders to pay attention to the serious mistakes made in the privatization in Armenia–which has resulted in grave circumstances for peasants.

The upcoming local elections in Karabakh were also among the issues discussed. The sides agreed that these elections may become a serious step in the process of establishing democracy in the country if conditions of a free and fair vote are ensured and to demonstrate to the world community that the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is an established entity.
