BEVERLY HILLS–Consul General Armen Melkonian is pleased to announce that President Kocharian will speak at an Armenian American community forum at the Universal Amphitheater on Sunday–September 27 and to a dinner hosted by the Los Angeles World Affairs Council on–Monday–September 28.
These events are part of President Kocharian’s three day visit to Southern California during which he will meet with government–business and community leaders and attend a banquet organized by the United Armenian Fund.
The President and the First Lady will be accompanied by Vartan Oskanian–Minister of Foreign Affairs–Ambassadors Ruben Shugarian and Movses Abelian and Gasia Apkarian–Advisor to the President.
The community forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday–September 27–1998 in the 6,000 seat Universal Amphitheater and will include a celebration of the seventh anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Admission to this event will be free of charge.
The Los Angeles World Affairs Council will host a banquet at the Regal Biltmore Hotel at 6:30 p.m. Reservations for this event may be made by calling the World Affairs Council at 213-628-2333. Tickets for the dinner will cost $53 per person.
Kocharian is scheduled to arrive in the Southland on Saturday–Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Van Nuys airport. He scheduled to meet with the press that afternoon. First Lady Bella Kocharian is also scheduled to visit Glendale Memorial Hospital Monday morning.
Kocharian and the First Lady will also be among the many officials at a Sept. 26 dinner banquet marking the 100th airlift of the United Armenian Fund.
The President is also scheduled to meet with political leaders of the community.
