YEREVAN (Armenpress)–President Robert Kocharian Wednesday bestowed the coveted "Movses Khorenatsi" award on Armenian-American historian and Genocide scholar Vahakn Dadrian–who was recently admitted to the National Academy of Sciences in Armenia.
Following the endowment of the medal–Kocharian praised Dadrian’s more than 25 years of academic contribution in research and advancement of the Armenian Genocide–as well as his efforts to bring the crime of the Armenian Genocide to the forefront of international research and academia.
Kocharian–once again–stressed that the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide was a priority for his administration. He added that Armenian nation was one with the Diaspora–Karabakh and the homeland. "We have to be together and struggle together always setting our sights on the future. This is the guarantee for the salvation of our nation and the Diaspora. We must create our nation together," Kocharian commented.
In his remarks–Dadrian thanked the president for the honor and for evaluating his work in such an important manner.
