PACE Views Armenia’s Stance on Meeting Constructive

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–As was reported earlier–the tripartite meeting on the Karabakh conflict with the participation of Armenia–Azerbaijan and Karabakh which was to be held in Strasbourg under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was postponed due to Azerbaijan’s unwillingness to adhere to the conditions of the said meeting.

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Khosrov Haorutunian received a message Tuesday from PACE Secretary General Bruno Haller wherein the European body highly commended Armenia’s constructive position and pointed out the important role of legislators in the settlement of the conflict.

In his letter–Haller expressed optimism that the meeting would be held in the near future.
