MOSCOW (Itar-Tass)–Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said Wednesday that Russian-Armenian military cooperation was not aimed against Azerbaijan.
Ivanov was speaking at a news conference at the end of talks with Azeri Foreign Minister Tofik Zulfugarov–who was concerned about Russian-Armenian military ties.
"Our side gave explanations that the said cooperation with Armenia– in the military realm–is developing according to the existing treaty and agreemen’s and is not aimed against Azerbaijan," Ivanov said.
"I believe that if such concerns do arise–they should be expressed and we should discuss them constructively," he said– adding that such concerns should not pile up and hamper discussion of other issues.
