GLENDALE–Long-time Glendale resident and active community member Rafi Manoukian Tuesady announced his intentions to seek a seat on the Glendale City Council.
Manoukian–a certified accountant by profession–and his wife Zovig have resided in Glendale for eleven years. A veteran of the Air Force–rank of Sergeant–Rafi Manoukian was awarded a commendation medal for outstanding achievement. He is currently serving on the Glendale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors–and is the Chairperson of the Armenian National Committee of Glendale and as treasurer of the Armenian Cultural Association-Hamazkayin.
Rafi Manoukian was an active supporter of measure K in 1997 and presently serves on the Glendale Unified School District’s Advisory Bond Committee. Having participated in the Glendale Leadership program and the city’s pilot training program–and having a diverse background–Rafi Manoukian will bring a unique perspective to the Glendale City Council.
"Over the past few years–we have seen a growing trend away form cooperation and unity in our city. I am hopeful that my candidacy will encourage community involvement and dialogue to address and mediate viable solutions," stated Rafi Manoukian–a parent of three youngsters.
Manoukian added that he wants to make a positive contribution to building a consensus on the major issues facing Glendale today.
"It is time to stop the divisiveness and work toward providing leadership for all of Glendale," remarked Manoukian.
