MOSCOW (Itar-Tass)–The Russian government has decided to render humanitarian aid to Armenia in connection with the 10th anniversary of the devastating quake in Spitak.
A total of $8.6 million will be allocated by instruction of Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov–the Governmental Information Department reported Thursday.
The Russian Ministry of Finance and Vnesheconombank are instructed to hold negotiations with Armenia within a week on a possibility of a pre-term payment of a part of the Armenian debt on Russian state credits and their interests. The negotiations are expected to result in signing of a related agreement.
