Republican Council of Women Wants Women to be Involved

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Equal rights of men and women’should be regarded as a constituent part of human rights–Nora Hakobian–chairwoman of the Republican Council of Women–said during the meeting of the Council’s delegation with the vice-speaker of the National Assembly Albert Bazeyan.

The sides reportedly underlined that RCW activities of recent years had been aimed at ensuring equal rights of men and women in society. Attempts are being made to gradually involve women in all structures regulating public life in Armenia.

In the given political situation–the RCW Presidium also attaches great importance to cooperation with parties which could include women’s problem in their programs and nominate female candidates during elections.

At the request of the guests–Bazeyan explained some issues pertaining to the Election Code and gave details of ArmenTel’s activities.
