Eurasia Foundation Makes Selection for Synergy Program

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Eurasia Foundation has allocated 27 contact gran’s worth $47,897 to support the foundation’s new Synergy Program–a program of regional cooperation in South Caucasus. The program was discussed by 170 grant-recipients from Armenia–Azerbaijan and Georgia–which gathered in Georgia’s Likani town in October 1998. The program supports regional projects by providing a grant of up to $45,000.

Contact gran’s are provided to organizations for thorough development of an idea of a joint project on cooperation. This will be followed by the second phase of the competition–during which final selection of program participants will take place.

Gran’s were provided in the following areas: business development–rule of law–support of mass media–training in business–electronic communication means–state administration–and development of non-governmental organizations.
