Bay Area ANC to Host Radanovich Hamparian

SAN FRANCISCO–At it’s annual "Hai Tad Evening," scheduled for March 6 on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay–the Bay Area ANC will host special guests–Congressman George Radanovich of Fresno and Aram Hamparian–Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America in Washington.

Congressman George Radanovich has represented the 19th Congressional District of Fresno since 1994. In addition to work on the Budget and Resources committees and as Vice Chair of the Western Caucus–Congressman Radanovich has been very active in his support of Armenian-American issues–sponsoring numerous pieces of legislation–authoring letters to the White House and committee chairmen–and traveling to Armenia and Karabakh. His efforts to secure recognition of the Armenian Genocide are unsurpassed in Congress. Congressman Radanovich was recently appointed to the influential House International Relations Committee.

Aram Hamparian is the Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America–serving as the ANCA’s spokesperson to the Administration–Congress–and the Washington foreign policy community. He has regular advisory consultations with the National Security Council–the State Department–and other government agencies on issues involving Armenia–Karabakh–and the region–and has testified before Congress on foreign aid policy. He coordinates the work of the ANCA through its two regional headquarters and its 45 local chapters–as well as consulting with affiliate organizations around the world.

The Bay Area ANC hosts its annual "Hai Tad Evening" to keep the community informed of ANC’s work in detail–to alert it to the coming year’s agenda–and to give it an opportunity to personally meet and show appreciation for particular individuals who are key players in promoting the issues important to the Armenian-American community.

The Bay Area Armenian National Committee recently honored retiring state senator Quentin Kopp at the Armenian Community Center in San Francisco–on the occasion of the festive annual Armenian Christmas luncheon sponsored by the Armenian Relief Society Garin chapter.

Presenting former Senator Kopp a plaque in appreciation of his 27-year legacy of public service and dedication to the Armenian-American community– ANC spokesperson Roxanne Makasdjian highlighted the issues the organization has worked with Kopp to promote.

The Bay Area Armenian National Committee also launched a website–which features news and current events about Bay Area ANC activities. The website is at www.ancsf.org.
