YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) made a press release today:
"On Wednesday–February 17th–two Azeri detainees have been released by the authorities of the Republic of Armenia. The detainees were handed over to delegates of the international Committee of the Red Cross who organized their transfer to Azerbaijan.
"These two detainees have been regularly visited by ICRC’s delegates during their time in captivity. Before their departure–the ICRC ensured that it was their wish to be sent home–as is customary procedure.
"The ICRC–true to its mandate–has in the past facilitated release and repatriations and it remains available to assist the authorities with such operations."
