Census in Armenia to Be Conducted in 2001

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Minister of Statistics–State Register and Analysis Stepan Mnatsakanian said Tuesday that a census in Armenia will be conducted in 2001 simultaneously with the census in the Russian Federation. The census will be financed from the budget–but some of the funds can be allocated by the UN Development Program. To ensure accuracy during the census–expenses pending $1 per capita will have to be incurred. It should be observed that in the neighboring Azerbaijan the census was conducted in this year.
