TBILISI (Itar-Tass–ArmenPress–Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Defense Minister Vazgen Sargsyan left for Georgian capital Tbilisi Monday and met with Georgian counterpart Davit Tevzadze for a two-day close-door meeting.
The Georgian Defense Ministry announced that both ministers analyzed the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries and decided that a meeting of experts from both sides be held to help draft cooperative defense agreemen’s. Until now–there have been no agreemen’s signed between the two sides.
A tripartite meeting with the participation of the heads of the legislative bodies of Armenia and Azerbaijan has been planned for March 15 in Strasbourg. Sargsyan said that the aforementioned meeting entrusted Georgia–as a member of the Council of Europe–with a special responsibility in regional processes.
After the meeting–Sargsyan said that his visit was very friendly and that he is guest of his friend Tevzadze.
Sargsyan also met with Georgian Parliamentary Speaker Zurab Zhvania.
