Mercedes Benz Intends to Invest in Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The "Mercedes Benz" automobile firm intends to implement a number of investment programs in Armenia–in particular to set up production. Minister of Finance & Economy Edward Sandoyan met earlier last week with representatives of the firm. The sides pointed out the mutually advantageous conditions existing in Armenia for implementing investment programs. The minister pointed out that under the law of Armenia "On Foreign Investmen’s" all the invested materials and property that are imported for establishing joint ventures are exempted from customs duties. He stressed that the Armenian government will render every kind of assistance to the "Mercedes Benz" firm in implementing its programs.

The guests showed interest in the insurance sphere in Armenia and stated their intention to establish an insurance company in the country.
