ARS Participates in “Appeal for Peace” Conference in the Hague

BOSTON–The Central Executive Board of the Armenian Relief Society–Inc. announced Thursday–that the ARS is participating in the "Appeal for Peace" Conference in the Hague–as a designated member of its Organizing Committee.

The seven-member ARS delegation represents four ARS organizational regions and includes ARS–Inc. Chairperson Maro Minassian–Penelope Giragosian–and youth representative Sarine Gregorian from the United States; Regional Chairperson Lisa Avakian from Greece; Sylvia Hagopian-Lucas and Rubina Boghosian from England–and Christine Avakian from Armenia arrived at the Hague on Monday.

With more than 8000 participants from around the world–the Conference has scheduled round-table discussions–lectures and other meetings addressing topics related to world peace–such as human rights–protection of children and the elderly–minority and women’s rights–disarmament–the rejection of war and all forms of violence.

The ARS delegates–already involved in the preliminary programs–will be actively presenting their views–promoting just solutions to conflicts and clashes that affect all of humanity.
