Chinese Embassy Says It Has No Information On Alleged Arms Supplies to Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Chinese Embassy in Armenia’said it does not possess information regarding Chinese arms shipmen’s to Armenia.

"We do not have any information to this effect," the embassy said in response to a request of Noyan Tapan to comment on information of Reuters according to which Azerbaijan accused China of supplying sophisticated weaponry to Armenia.

In an interview with Reuters state presidential advisor on foreign affairs of Azerbaijan Vafa Guluzade said that China supplied 8 "Typhoon" rocket systems to Armenia. He also alleged that the systems were procured by Armenian defense minister Vazgen Sargssian during his and Russian defense minister’s visit to China last summer.

Guluzade also alleges that "currently Chinese instructors are teaching Armenia’s how to use these systems."
