Egoyan Disucusses Genocide at Cannes Film Fetival

The "Huryet" newspaper reported that this year politics entered the Cannes Film Festival. The festival whose main attraction is usually the films which are on exhibit–had some aspects of politics thrown in. Atom Egoyan whose "Felicia’s Journey" is nomianted for a Palme d’or promised that his struggle is going to continue until Turkey admits its perpetration of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Egoyan’s statement caused a stir. Talking to an Italian reporter–Egoyan said that at the age of 18–he emmigrated to the United States. "I have spent my entire life feeling the wounds of the genocide on my skin. The world is yet to recognize the Armenian genocide–it is this reason that today I continue to my struggle."
