Head of OSCE Observer Mission Due in Yerevan On May 28

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Member of the Swedish Parliament Tone Tingsgaard will arrive in Yerevan on May 28 to lead the work of about 200 international observers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe at the 30 May parliamentary elections in Armenia as well as to publish a preliminary statement on election returns jointly with other officials on behalf of the international community on May 30. Tingsgaard was appointed special envoy by OSCE Chairman in Office–foreign minister of Norway Knut Vollebaek.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly said in a press release that the OSCE observer group includes 22 representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly from 13 OSCE-member countries: Austria–the Czech Republic–Finland–Germany–Italy–Kazakhstan–Norway–Poland–Romania–Slovakia–Sweden–and the United States. Parliamentarians representing the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly will also monitor the legislative elections in Armenia.
