YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An Armenian-Austrian business forum attended by representatives of 22 Austrian and 150 Armenian firms started in Yerevan Monday. The forum was arranged by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia and the Department for Countries of Central and Eastern Europe–Chamber of Economy of Austria. Similar forums were recently held in Baku and Tbilisi.
Talking to Noyan Tapan–President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia Samvel Sharbadian pointed out that the imports from Austria are five times as much as the exports from Armenia and total 1.2 billion AMD. The participants in the forum appealed for the Armenian-Austrian economic cooperation to be developed. Sharbadian said that Austrian firms see the prospects for establishing Armenian-Austrian joint ventures and introducing their know-how in Armenia.
