Misak Manushian Public Garden Inaugurated in French City

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A ceremonial inauguration of a public garden named after Misak Manushian–a national hero of France–was held in the French city of Pelvoisen on May 27. Attending the ceremony were high-ranking municipal officials–members of the National Assembly of France and the French Senate–heads of human rights organizations.

A memorial plaque was put up in honor of Misak Manushian. Armenian Ambassador to France Edward Nalbandian expressed his firm belief that today there are all conditions for the friendship between the two nations to become more fruitful–given the reciprocal warm feelings.

A meeting held the same day made a decision on the establishment of cooperation between the Val-de-Loir province of France and one of the provinces of Armenia in the spheres of economy–culture and education.

A joint working group was assigned upon the initiative of the local administration and the Armenian Embassy in France to develop and submit specific proposals.
