Sard 99 Armenian Website Contest Winner to be Announced

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The awards ceremony of the Sard-99 Armenian Website Contest will take place on June 10 at the UN mission in Yerevan.

The Sard-99 Armenian Website Contest in which about 100 web-sites participated was held in two stages. At the final stage winners were selected by a jury made up of representatives of the Armenian government–Internet providers–media and universities.

The grand prize is $1,200 and the first prize in various categories is $600.

The Sard-99 Armenian Website Contest–which is named after the Armenian word for "spider," is an initiative of the UNDP Armenia Internet project. The contest is sponsored by the Internet project–NAROD Institute (US) and the Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation).
