Events Marking Hovhannes Toumanian Jubilee Staged in Aleppo

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A number of cultural events marking the 130th birthday anniversary of the great Armenian writer Hovhannes Toumanian were staged at Armenia’s Consulate General in Aleppo.

An exhibition presenting books for children published in Armenia as well as over 120 works by pupils of the Aleppo-based "Saryan" Academy–the "Arshille Gorky" Art College–Aleppo’s Armenian school and the Yerevan Center of Aesthetic Education opened in the Consulate’s garden on June 5-6.

In his welcome address Armenia’s Consul General to Aleppo Areg Hovhannissian emphasized the importance of the Consulate’s work with children.

During the event the Armenian children of Aleppo had an opportunity to watch two short feature films: "The Master & the Servant" and "The Failure Panos".

On June 6–the Mesrop Mashtots Choir staged a brief concert.
