BEVERLY HILLS–The Consulate General announced this week that in light of the preparations for the Armenia-Diaspora pan-Armenian conference to be held in Yerevan on September 22–Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian will visit Los Angeles to meet with representatives of the Armenian community.
Oskanian is co-chairman of government committee set up by president Robert Kocharian to oversee the preparations for the Armenia-Diaspora conference.
The committee has already met with Armenian community representatives from Budapest–Paris–Washington and Beirut.
The Armenian community in Southern California will meet with the foreign minister on Friday–June 25 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium at an event entitled "Armenia and the Diaspora: Challenges on the eve of the 21st century." The auditorium is located at 1401 North Verdugo Road–Glendale. Admission is free.
