A New Book on General Dro Published

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A new book on the life of Armenian national hero Gen. Dro (Drastamat Kanayan) has been published by noted historian and author Hamlet Gevorgyan.

It has bee everal days since Mardiros Kanayan–the son of Gen. Dro–one of the most authoritative figures of the national-liberation struggle of the Armenian people–Minister of Defense of the First Armenian Republic in 1918-20 Drastamat Kanayan (Dro)–has been on a visit to Armenia.

Talking to Noyan Tapan–Kanayan said that the main goal of his visit was to reach an agreement with the Armenian authorities on his father’s remains being transferred from Boston to Armenia. According to him–the preliminary negotiations were a success and an agreement was arrived at on reburying of Dro’s remains in Armenian soil next May.
