Deimler Chrysler Office to Open in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A delegation of the Schtutgart-based Headquaters of the "Deimler-Chrysler" company led by Sales and Marketing Manager General for CIS countries and Mongolia Herbert Muller and Sales Manager for Central Asia and Mongolia Joahim Trenkle arrived in Yerevan for the purpose of establishing an office in Armenia. The representative of the "Deimler-Chrysler" in Armenia is the Armenian-Lebanese "Intermotor-Armenia."

The company’s office will be opened for the purpose of importing and servicing Mercedes-Benz cars–Muller told a news conference Thursday. One of the perks of having an office in Yerevan will be the "jet-service," which will provide any spare part for a car within a week. An office of the "Intermotor-Armenia" and a service center are currently under construction in the Nor-Nork district of Yerevan. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

The representative of the Lebanese side–Fashed Bashan reported that new cars as well as used cars will be sold. He also said that an auto shop will be opened in the center of Yerevan.

The shareholder of the "Intermotor-Armenia" company–Board member of Credit Yerevan–member of Parliament Martin Hovhannissian reported that the company’s investmen’s will total $4 million by the end of 1999. He noted that Sedrak Sedrakian–Levon Farmanian and Armen Stepanian also hold shares of the company on the Armenian side.
