Consortium to Build Iran Armenia Gas Pipeline Discussed

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Key participants in the international consortium to build the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline have been determined. Robert Marutian of the Armgasproject Institute specified them as the Ministry of Energy of Armenia–the Iranian National Gas Company–Rosgazprom and Gas de France. The parties will soon meet to discuss the staging of gas supplies–and final prices for gas deliveries.

The estimated cost of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline is $120 million. Among the major goals of the construction are to diversify sources of energy supply and to intensify industrial production in Armenian regions adjacent to Iran.
