Karbakh Can Benefit from Potential Armenia Poland Ties

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Personal contacts between officials and businessmen can serve as a serious basis for the development of economic ties between Armenia and Poland–Armenian President Robert Kocharian said at an Armenian-Polish business forum held in Warsaw. Kocharian–who is currently on an official visit to Poland–pointed out that the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries is much greater that its current passive state.

The president said that cooperation in the following fields are most promising: chemistry–jewelry–machine/tool making–construction–food and manufacturing industries–and tourism. Kocharian pointed out that running a business in Armenia will ensure the access to new markets in the South Caucasus and Middle East.

The president said that Armenia is the most stable and organized country in the South Caucasus. Armenia’s tax and customs systems were brought to international standards; there are no restrictions for capital movement and production flow; the judicial system was also reformed–Kocharian explained.
