TEHRAN (Alik)–Dr. Haroutiun "Harmik" Davitian was named one of the five top Psychologists by the World Psychological Association and was chosen to be present in Germany for an international meeting of psychologists that will be held next month.
Dr. Davitian has been the head of the Psychology Department at the Medical University in Tehran and the director of the Rouzpeh Psychological Institute for many years.
He helped establish the Psychology Society of Iran in 1966. He has worked with the World Health Organization as an advisor. In 1970 he was elected to be a member of the Medical Society of England and in 1971 he was a founding member of the College of Psychology in England. For a decade he has been a member of the World Psychology Association.
He was elected to be a member of the Medical Academy of Iran in 1993 after which he was named an honorary member of the Academy.
He is currently the President of both the Psychology Society of Iran and the Department of Psychology of Iran’s Ministry of Health.
