Publishers Participate in International Book Fair in Moscow

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Sixty CIS and European countries and 1,600 publishing firms and organizations participated in the annual international Book Fair which opened in Moscow on September 1. Armenia is also a traditional participant in the Moscow Fair. This time a delegation of the Department of Information and Publications of the Armenian Government arrived in Moscow.

In 1999–Armenian publishers presented books published by 15 publishing houses in Armenia. The following publishing houses will have the opportunity to present its products and sign contracts with other publishers participating in the Fair: Nairi–Hayastan–Anahit–Arevik–Areg–3 Studio and Chief Editorial Board of Encyclopedia.

Moscow book lovers can take interest in Vahan Terian’s "Collected Poetry" and the Russian translation of the epos "Sasuntsi David" published by Nairi publishing house. Among the books published by Hayastan publishing house are David Anaht’s works and the book "Tovma Artsruni and Anatum" as well as Irina Mosesova’s book "Armenia’s of Baku: Genesis and Exodus."

The photography collections "Shushi" (in English)–"Museum of Armenian Art" and "Armenian Folk Tales in Pictures by Children" were presented by the "Amaras" and "Tigran Mets" publishing houses.

Areg publishing house will present books of tales by Anderssen and Demirchian and an Armenian-French Dictionary. Voskan Yerevantsi publishing house will present the "Armenian Dictionary of Homonyms." 3 Studio publishing house will present Tumanian’s collected poetry "7 melodies," and the Chief Editorial Board of Encyclopedia will present the third volume of the Children’s Encyclopedia and other publications. The Book Fair will last until September 3.
