1700th Anniversary Celebrations Program Developed

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At its September 16 meeting the State Commission for Organizing Celebrations of the 1700th Anniversary of Adoption of Christianity in Armenia discussed issues related to the celebrations–their financing and schedule. The meeting was presided over by Commission Chairman–Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sargssian. Attending the meeting was also Managing Secretary of the Church Commission–Archbishop Mesrop Ashjian.

Presenting what has already been done–Acting Chairman of the Council for Religious Affairs Levon Mkrtichian stated that the proposals made during the preceding meeting were combined with the package of previously made proposals. As a result a comprehensive program was developed which provides for various arrangemen’s: exhibitions–scientific conferences–book-publishing–and more. After discussing the program–the meeting approved the program and made further suggestions.
