WARSAW–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation took part the session of the Committee for Central and Easter Europe of Socialist International which convened Friday in Warsaw–presided over by the Italy’s trade minister Piero Fassino and former Hungarian foreign minister Lazlo Kovacs.
Taking part in the meeting are representatives of socialist and social-democratic parties from throughout the world. The ARF is being represented by ARF Bureau member Mario Nalbandian–while Hilda Choboyan represents the party at Socialist International Women’s gathering.
Following the chairpersons’ welcoming remarks–as well as an address by host Socialist party chair of Poland–the meeting began to discuss agenda items which included peace and stability in southeastern Europe–regional national concerns–as well as suggestions for the upcoming world assembly of Socialist International–scheduled to convene in Paris in November.
During the latter agenda item–Nalbandian presented a report on recent political and economic developmen’s in Armenia.
On Thursday–President of Poland hosted a reception for meeting participants. The meeting will adjourn Saturday.
