Thereafter–the document will be submitted to ratification through the two countries’ foreign ministries–Head of the Department of Information and Publications–Government of Armenia–Eduard Militonian and Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Alexander Bozhko said during their meeting September 29.

The sides stressed the need for restoring cultural ties as well as developing cooperation between the two countries–in particular–the need for government support of periodicals in Armenian and Ukrainian and the information field between the two states.

The Ukrainian ambassador said that 2-3 Armenian newspapers are currently published in Ukraine–and the Armenian-language Aragast newspaper published by the Ukrainian Supreme Rada recently marked its 5th anniversary.

Among the problems of the information sphere–Militonian singled out faulty legislation. A package of bills related to the sphere is currently being developed to be submitted to the National Assembly.
