YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s residing in Ajaria resent the fact that Speaker of the Supreme Council of Ajaria–Leader of the "Union of Revival of Georgia" Aslan Abashidze is trying to push Azeris into Parliament by means of Armenian votes–a reliable source in Georgia told Noyan Tapan.
The source stated that only one Armenian is included in the party list of candidates running for Parliament. Among the first thirty candidates are three Azeris. Not all candidates reside in Ajaria. They live in different regions of Georgian where the Armenian and Azeri population is almost equal. In Ajaria the Armenian population prevails. An intensive propaganda was spread by the "Revival" party in the Tsalksk and Akhaltsikh regions with Armenian population.
The same source reported that many Armenia’s residing in Georgia vote at the elections through different political parties–including those displaying radical attitude to national minorities. There is a possibility that 6-7 Armenia’s will become members of the future parliament. Currently–four Armenia’s are members of the parliament.
