Montebello Homenetmen Marks 25th Anniversary

MONTEBELLO–The Homenetmen Montebello chapter marked its 25th anniversary during a dinner-dance last Saturday at Baghramian Hall.

Present at this silver jubilee celebration were community leaders–Homenetmen members–as well as Pico Rivera City Councilmembers Garret Gardner and Pete Ramirez–and Garry Mendez representing Congresswoman Grace Napolitano. Representatives of the Homenetmen Regional Executive and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dro chapter were also present.

The program began with an impressive flag ceremony–followed by an invocation officiated by Rev. Khoren Baboshian of Montebello’s Holy Cross Cathedral. Welcoming remarks were made by Vartkes Arabian who invited Master of Ceremonies Bedros Berberian.

The chapter message was conveyed by Manoug Zeytounian–while Garo Madenlian spoke on behalf of the ARF Dro chapter.

Raffi Ispendjian spoke on behalf of the Homenetmen Regional Executive–following which Mendez presented a proclamation on behalf of Rep. Napolitano to the Homenetmen Montebello chapter.

A plaque was also presented by the neighboring Pasadana Sardarabad chapter–whose chairman Anto Chanlian congratulated the Montebello chapter.

The chapter executive also presented a plaque to long-time scout leader Vahe Manuelian.

The program concluded with a ceremonial candle lighting and cake cutting–for which more than 25 sponsors had made contribution.

The celebration continued with a dance and entertainment was provided by Hovig Krikorian.
