YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An Armenian delegation led by National Security Minister Serge Sargssian participated in the proceedings of the 6th session of the CIS Security Chiefs Council in St. Petersburg–Russia–from September 30 to October 1.
The meetings focused on ways to combat terrorism–establish cooperation in ensuring economic security and improve information exchange systems. Appropriate decisions were made on each of the issues.
Russian Federal Security Service Director Nikolay Patrushev was elected Chairman of the Council of CIS National Security and Special Services Chiefs.
Also attending the meetings was Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
Bilateral meetings also took place in St. Petersburg.
