National Chamber Orchestra Concerts Dedicated to Pushkin

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The National Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Aram Gharabekian performed at the Komitas House of Chamber Music on October 2 and 3 dedicating the concerts to the 200th birthday anniversary of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The program included music by such Russian 19th and 20th century composers as Tchaikovsky–Stravinsky and Shostakovich.

Soloist Svetlana Navasardian–the pride of the Armenian piano school–is the laureate of five international contests. Her art is widely known and recognized in more than 30 countries of the world.

The Yerevan concerts–held under the aegis of the Russian Embassy in Armenia–proved a great success. The sponsors were the Fund of Vatche and Tamar Manoogian–Armeximbank–Armimpexbank and Ardshinbank.
